Sizing & Dimensions.
Each box contains two panels that fit seamlessly together to cover 16.52 sf (1.54 m2). Individual slats are measured at 27mm wide with a 13mm space between each slat.
Panels are 20mm thick, consisting of 11mm MDF with wood veneers + 9mm PET felt.
Total surface area: 0.77 m2 (8.26 sf) per panel & 1.54 m2 (16.52 sf) per box of two.
Total weight: 10 lbs per panel & 20 lbs per box of two.
Please be sure to measure your space before attempting to install.
Preparing Your Panels.
1. Cutting your panels.
If your project requires cutting your panels lengthwise, the
acoustic felt can be cut using a sharp craft knife.
Cutting your panels horizontally through the wood slats can be
done easily using a chop saw or mitre saw.
2. Planning.
Once you have decided how you will install your panels, you will need to acquire the necessary tools. Adhesive and end caps are both available on our site.
The necessary screws, screw caps and drywall anchors/plugs (if required) are included with each panel.
Please be sure to use the appropriate products and screw placement based on your installation method.
Installation Instructions.
Below are the three most simple ways to install your Frequency panels. Get in touch for extra assistance or for advice on special projects!
Method 1 - Screwing Directly to the Wall.
Screw the panels through the
acoustic felt directly into the wall
using the included mounting
screws. We recommend using 10
screws per panel in the pattern
shown in the drawing.
When mounting into drywall, make
sure to use the included screw
anchors/plugs.
Method 2 - Glueing Directly to the Wall.
Apply adhesive to the back of the panel as per the indicated bead pattern and then mount it onto the wall pressing firmly. For additional hold-down, installation screws may also be inserted in the felt at the top and bottom corners and mid-section of each panel. (Refer to drawing for details of glue spread pattern and screw placement. )
Method 3 - Screwing Panels into Timber Battens.
To achieve optimal sound absorption fix 45 mm wood battens to the wall with a distance of 600mm, as shown in the drawing to the left. Insert
mineral wool between the battens and screw the panels through the acoustic felt into the battens.
After installation, make sure to affix the matching (black or grey) plastic screw caps to the head of the mounting screws for a more
seamless appearance.
End piece slats are available to create a cleaner look.
